Sure it’s only October but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to be thinking about holiday shopping. It’s going to be here before you know it. Any smart consumer will agree that getting your holiday shopping done early is the key to a less stressful December, so why not start looking around now? When it comes to toys particularly, supplies can run low the closer you get to December 25th so it behooves you to see what you can pick up now, before the rush starts.
We’ve scoured the web to find out which toys the experts are predicting will be the most popular this holiday season. Here are just a few that you can pick up online now for a good price.
Leading off is Beatles Rock Band, the latest incarnation of the popluar video game series which is now available for PS3, Xbox and Wii. This is probably the only item on the list that will get as much play time from the parents as it does the kids, but at the very least, it’s a great way to educate your kids on the works of the best band ever! Nintendo’s DSI portable gaming device should also be popular this year, with a full array of entertaining and educational games.
For the little girls in your life, Zhu Zhu Pets and Littlest Pet Shop Collectibles
are expected to be the top sellers in 2009 and both offer plenty of choices. Have your little one shop with you to find out exactly which ones she wants!
For the boys, the enormous success of the GI Joe movie and Transformers sequel have action figures from both movies in high demand. Personally, we’re a little bummed at how “un-Army” the new GI Joe figures look (at least compared to their predecessors from the 1980s) but the kids love them. If your youngsters didn’t request Transformers toys last year, there’s a good chance you’ll be looking for them this time around. In addition to the action figures, there are Transformer “helmets” out there as well for some of the main characters. We like the Bumblebee helmet the best, mostly because it changes your voice when you wear it. How cool is that???
Finally, if you’re looking for an awesome game, look no further than MindFlex. This isn’t your father’s board game, that’s for sure. Users wear a headset with sensors that measures your brain activity, and the goal is to guide a small ball through an obstacle course using only your concentration. The game’s getting rave reviews and from the sounds of it, could become very addictive very quickly.
We’ll cover more ideas for Christmas 2009 in the coming weeks so keep coming back!
